The Story in Simple Words
The story of Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is set in the holy city, Varanasi. It mainly focuses on the character of Ganga Sharma aka Ganga Mai whose life was turned upside down after her husband left her because she failed to give birth to a son. But instead of giving in to the situation, Ganga picks up the pieces and raises her three daughters with courage and self-respect. She starts a small eatery to help her family and tirelessly works everyday.
Her daughters’ names are Sahana, Sneha, and Soni. Sahana being the eldest is a responsible girl and always puts her family first. Sneha is a fearless girl who never backs down from the truth and later develops a bond with Siddhanth Singh Thakur, aka Siddhu. Siddhu has a rough exterior that hides his inner goodness. But Durgawati, Siddhu’s ambitious mother, creates problems for their relationship. The youngest daughter, Soni, through the course of her life, slowly comes to terms with the hardships of her family.
